In our first news item of the 2022 Season, we are pleased to announce that The Deanery Academy in Wichelstowe, Swindon is the new home for the Swindon Softball League!

Here at the Swindon Softball League are very excited about our future at this new venue and the opportunities it will bring. We are proud to be providing the game we love to the local community in Wichelstowe and to Swindon as a whole.

After many years just outside of Swindon in a somewhat rural venue, it will also be great to have such a lovely area immediately on our doorstep in the Canalside (pictured below) and the facilities it provides: a great pub and supermarket so close to where we are playing, as well as the other pubs, commercial areas and easy access to the centre of Swindon nearby.

We hope to see many new faces over the summer months as we get to share the game of slow-pitch softball that we love to more and more people.

We have League Preseason Sessions booked in at The Deanery on both Mondays and Thursdays from 6pm:

Mondays: April 11th, April18th, April 25th, May 2nd and May 9th

Thursdays: April 14th, April 21st, April 28th and May 5th

On Monday nights throughout the summer, we will be holding competitive games as part of our new developmental league. Even if you miss our preseason sessions, these Monday night games will be perfect for turning up and playing for the first time. Our developmental teams are currently building their rosters, and there are plenty of spots open for new players.

On Thursday nights our established Swindon Softball League teams will compete to become the 2022 Season League Champions! For any new players who can only make Thursdays, please feel free to come along and meet us then – our teams are always keen to meet new players and it is common for new players to join our established teams as well as our new teams.
