Great news everyone! The schedule for the 2021 Swindon Softball League season was released earlier today.

It has been a long, hard year for all of us and it is our pleasure to announce, in line with current BSUK Return To Play guidelines of course, a full season of softball – something that was sorely missed last year. Of course it goes without saying that we will only proceed by adhering to BSUK and government guidance. If anything changes, we will be the first to update you.

The 2021 season sees the Swindon Softball League playing with 5 teams instead of the usual 6. Due to changes in everyone’s lives over the past year, all of our teams have had a hit on the number of players available to them. More so for the Bombers and Dodgers who are unfortunately not able to play as individual teams this year. However, this hasn’t stopped the remaining players who have joined forces to form the Bodgers for the 2021 season. This is not something new to both teams as they have done this in the past and have always been able to reform their own teams and of course we hope they can do so again in 2022.

One final note on the schedule: going forward all fixtures and results will be displayed on the website in the traditional baseball/American format of ‘Away Team @ Home Team’. It is a lot easier behind the scenes here on the website to do so, this aligns better with the layout of the box score and of course pays homage to the origin of the sport. Please remember that the home team has responsibility to set up the pitch prior to the start of each game!
