Who We Are & Why We Play
The Phoenix were raised from the ashes of the Burderop Bombers (formerly Halcrow Havoc and the Burderop Bears) league team. Whilst the Bombers continue to compete in various tournaments as a travelling team, their legacy as a home for new and developing players was maintained in the form of a new development team – the Phoenix!
Our History
Teams from the former Halcrow offices at Burderop Park have competed in the Swindon Softball League since its inception. Though Burderop Park is no longer a softball venue, the team lives on, now in the form of the Bombers travelling team and the Phoenix development team.
What The Future Holds
After a competitive first season in the Development League, including some nail-biting finishes and a one-point win in the Development Division’s inaugural game, the Phoenix continue to be a place for new players to learn the game and set the field alight!
